FBA Inbound Analytics and Data Engineering team builds data platform and capabilities to influence FBA inbound product & policy decisions, which enhance seller experience, lower total supply chain costs, and maximize speed to delivery.

FBA Inbound product analytics team is looking for a Data Engineer to support the product management team. Billions of units are shipped into Amazon network each year. In order to evaluate the performance of the business and influence business decisions, we need to store and process Petabyte scale data related to inbound supply chain workflows, inventory, placement, and transportation activities. This role presents exciting opportunities to work on very large data sets in one of the world's largest and most complex data lake and data warehouse environments. Our data warehouse is built on AWS cloud technologies like Redshift and S3 for performing ETL processing hundreds of Terrabyte data.

As a Data Engineer in FBA Inbound products analytics team, you will work directly with stakeholders and technical partners to design and implement cutting edge data solutions. You will be responsible for developing the data architecture components that scales for the ever-evolving data needs. You will solve big data warehousing problems on a massive scale. You will apply cloud-based AWS services to solve challenging problems around: big data processing, ETL, data warehouse design, and enabling self-service. You will focus on automation and optimization for all areas of DW/ETL maintenance. In addition to the technical skills, you possess strong written and verbal communication skills, obsess over the best for internal customers and demonstrate strong ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Synthesize business requirements into data platform architecture for use by business intelligence engineers, data scientists, and product managers.
• Develop new data pipelines and enhance existing ones. Establish new scalable, efficient and automated processes for ingesting data.
• Work with BIEs, product managers and data scientists to understand data needed for key business areas. Build data store and data pipelines to deliver the needed data.
• Develop the end-to-end automation of data pipelines, making datasets readily-consumable by visualization tools, machine learning platforms, and daily/weekly/monthly reporting processes.
• Define processes for optimized data retention, archival, and retrieval.
• Enhance processes to help maintain data integrity, availability, and auditability.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
• Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
• Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
