Senior Data Visualization Engineer/Reports Developer

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer with extensive hands-on experience in data visualization and business intelligence reporting. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in MS SQL, SSIS, and ETL processes, along with exposure to Snowflake (preferrable) data warehousing. This role requires excellent communication and client interaction skills to effectively understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and/or Tableau to provide insights and support decision-making processes.
• Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and business users to understand data needs, propose solutions, and deliver accurate, timely, and user-friendly visualizations.
• Implement and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformations in MS SQL to ensure efficient data retrieval and analysis.
• Develop and manage ETL processes using SSIS to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into the data warehouse.
• Work with Snowflake for data warehousing solutions, ensuring seamless data integration and optimized query performance.
• Perform data analysis and data validation to ensure data integrity and accuracy in reports.
• Participate in code reviews, peer learning sessions, and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
• Support end-users with troubleshooting and optimization of existing dashboards and reports.
• Maintain and document business intelligence solutions, technical designs, and implementation details.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in Power BI and/or Tableau development.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in MS SQL, with the ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
  • Experience in SSIS and ETL processes, with a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Snowflake and its integration with various ETL tools.
  • Ability to design and develop visualizations and reports that convey meaningful insights and trends.
• Soft Skills:

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Power BI, Tableau, or Snowflake is a plus.
